The Story Behind Devco Plumbing
When I started Devco Plumbing more than ten years ago, it was just me, a toolbox, and a Chevrolet Utility my dad helped me buy. No fancy setup, just a determination to do good work and build something I could be proud of.
In those early days, I did everything myself, from fixing leaks and blocked drains to answering calls and sending invoices late at night. What kept me going was seeing how much people appreciated honest, reliable service. Word spread, and before long, one job turned into another, and Devco Plumbing slowly began to grow.
Building Something Real
I’ve always believed that relationships matter more than anything else. Many of our first clients are still with us today, not because we’re perfect, but because they know we care and we show up when they need us.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky to build a small but solid team. Some of the guys have been with me almost since the beginning. We’ve worked through tough times, shared plenty of laughs, and learnt a lot along the way. They’re not just employees, they’re part of the family that makes Devco what it is.
Where We Are Today
From that one Chevrolet Utility, we’ve grown to a fleet of four fully equipped vans, serving homes and businesses across Cape Town. We’re still a small team, but we take pride in doing things properly and treating every client’s home or business the way we’d treat our own, with care, respect, and total commitment.
I’m proud of what we’ve built, not because it’s big, but because it’s genuine. Devco Plumbing has grown through word of mouth, repeat clients, and people who trust us to look after their plumbing as if it were our own.
We’ve been fortunate to take on projects that challenge us and help us grow, from working with large corporates, developers, schools, and interior designers to assisting homeowners with everyday plumbing needs. No matter the size of the job, our approach stays the same: we value and are committed to every single client.
Among our fleet, we also offer a high-pressure jetting service, ideal for clearing stubborn blockages and maintaining drainage systems quickly and effectively.
Looking ahead, we’re expanding our services to offer full bathroom and kitchen renovations, working closely with a trusted network of skilled tradesmen. It’s an exciting next step for our team, and we can’t wait to bring even more value to our clients’ homes and projects.
